Hello friends! I am still in Jinja, Uganda, at Called Christians. My return flight was cancelled so it looks like I will be here a bit longer. I was able to renew my visa for another three months (expires 17September) and I am keeping busy each day. Things are still pretty shut down in Uganda. I have been speaking with Beverly about when things open up again. We are talking about the possibility of her going on furlough then I return after she comes back. Nothing has been finalized, so we wait.  Please pray for God to give us clear steps to take with our time now and as we plan for the re-opening of Called Christians and Beverly’s furlough.

Mayla’s 1 year birthday

Mayla’s 1 year birthday

Remember Maike, the German woman I met at the airport in March? I have been able to spend some time getting to know her, her two daughters Josefina (3) and Mayla (1), and her friend Shadiah.  They have been over for lunch a few times and I attended Mayla’s first birthday party in Njeru, a suburb of Jinja last week. Maike is returning to Germany later this month and we are trying to get together again before she leaves. Prayers for this family, the remaining time they have here, and their return to Germany.

I have spoken on Zoom with a few connect groups, small groups, home groups, life groups… not sure what you call them. I would love to talk with your connect group. I have also spoken with a few individuals on Whatsapp video calls (download the free app on your phone) and given them a tour of the Called Christians compound. If you are interested in having me join your connect group or getting a personal tour please contact me Deb@NowDeb.com and we can get that set up.

Mark your calendars! The next Care Team live update meeting is Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 1:30pm Mountain (2:30pm Central). I would love to see your face and hear your voice and talk with you about what’s going on in Uganda. If you did not receive an invite to the June Meeting it is because I do not know you want to be on the team. Please contact me and we can talk about you joining us as we serve to advance the Kingdom.

I do post almost daily updates in a private face book page, if you are not in that group and want to be please contact me in Messenger and we’ll get you added.
